Born the daughter of Jughead’s late brother Mike and sister-in-law Summer Jones, Saranda Yates is a bubble-headed blonde whose humble disposition and nice tempered personality are a natural. Sometimes—when she gets giddy, she starts weeping.
She attended Riverdale High about 9 years ahead of Archie and most of the gang, in a class that included such folks as Fleming Oddrod. She graduated from RHS, went for 4 years to college out-of-town, then landed her 1st secretary’s job about 6 months after graduating from college. That’s when Judge Bookum hired her as his secretary at Riverdale Court House, where she served him for about 2 years + 6 months (she was there during the Riverdale Redux period). After resigning from RCH, she then landed her 2nd—and current—secretary’s job at RSI; Harry then selected her as his secretary—and steady mate. She’s heard of Betty and Veronica both dumping him after a date each. He then asked her out for a date, agreed, then went for their very 1st date—it was a success!
Harry needing someone to confide in after his dates with Betty and Veronica (although both friends with him) went to dead ends (and after the local girls back in Fosnia not caring much at all for/about him), he chose Saranda for his close friend/steady date—after they “sparked their flame”, Harry can always count on his steady Saranda to be there for him—vice versa.
Althogh she currently lives over on the east side of Riverdale just blocks away from Jughead’s family, Saranda does plan to move into the estate mansion with Harry (way over on the northwest side of Riverdale) after they get married and go on their honeymoon.
